Let’s Mix it up

Mixed media is a form of art, a visual art, that combines variety of media in a single work and it has been evolving with time ever since its discovery. With the advent of technology, art took a turn allowing it to be at all places at once; which means that every kid has an opportunity to recognize the artist in themselves and leads to a high likelihood of them following their passion, breaking down the walls of ‘what if’. Creation with mixed media has reached new heights and bloomed a large number of zealous, young artists. Today, we dive into the world of mixed media through the eyes of an artist and understand the psychology involved before, during and after her creation.

 

Pooja’s journey began with simple doodling, when her life and career couldn’t be envisioned. With a few experiments in doodling and scribbling, and positive responses to her art on Instagram and social media, she felt a secret world in creation at that moment- one driven by emotions and healing. Pooja focuses on a more emotional and feeling-oriented art and a majority of her work revolves around being lost, confused or worried with quite often improvisations.  Some of her inspirations - Sandhya and Chhaya Prabhat, and Ana Godis, have heavily influenced her illustrations. Dystopian themed works tug her heartstrings and makes her feel alive. Happiness or positive filled ideas are strayed away from, as she feels the authenticity and clarity while representing other emotions which are otherwise perceived or portrayed negatively. With art being more commercialised and with content growing rapidly, Pooja looks hopefully into the future and the revolution of art with possible aids from technology for further communication of ideas.
