Minimalist architecture became popular in the late 1980s in London. In recent times, it has become a lifestyle commonly referred to as minimalist lifestyle or simple living

Minimalism is giving up things, objects, possessions and even people in order to live a simple life. It is considered to be freedom from the passion to possess and not want things that one does not really require. It is living with the bare minimum.
